How to find a clothing manufacturer
Finding the right clothing manufacturer is the biggest decision in launching or scaling an apparel brand. Here is a simple process that works for first collections and established labels alike.

1. Define what you want to make
Write down the garment type, fabric, target quantity per style, target retail price and the date you need goods. Manufacturers specialise, so a clear brief helps you find the right fit fast.
A sketch, AI render or reference photo is enough to start. A tech pack makes quotes more accurate.
2. Decide between local, overseas or a multi country partner
Local factories can be faster for small runs but often cost more. Overseas factories can lower cost per unit but add communication and logistics work.
A multi country partner like Innovtex routes each style to the best fit across several countries (China, Spain, Vietnam and Honduras) and manages it for you.
3. Check minimum order quantities
MOQs vary widely by factory, category and fabric. If you are starting out, look for partners whose minimums match your first order. Innovtex MOQs start at 50 to 100 units depending on category and fabric.
4. Ask the right questions
Which certifications do you hold? How do sampling and approvals work? Who manages quality control? How are goods shipped to my country? Can I see examples of similar garments you have produced?
5. Order samples before bulk
Never skip sampling. A sample confirms fit, fabric and finish before you commit to production. Review it carefully and request changes in writing.
6. Agree on quality control and shipping
Confirm who inspects goods before they ship and how delivery to your warehouse works. End to end partners handle production, quality control and shipping in one place.
