Design to production / Tools & practical guides
Tech pack software for small clothing brands
A small brand needs a clear specification and a reliable approval process before it needs a large software stack. Start with your number of styles, collaborators and supplier handoff, then compare tools against those needs.

Next step
Turn your tech pack into a sample
Finished your tech pack, or only have an AI draft? Send it to Innovtex and we take it from file to physical sample, then to bulk production in China, Spain, Vietnam or Honduras.
- 1
Drop your tech pack
Upload the PDF, Illustrator file or images exported from your tech pack software, an AI tech pack draft or a sketch (JPG, PNG, PDF, AI, PSD or ZIP).
- 2
We review the specs
Our team checks measurements, materials and construction, flags anything missing and comes back with next steps and a quote.
- 3
Your sample is made
Patterns are made and your first physical sample is sewn, so you can approve fit, fabric and finish before bulk.
- 4
Bulk production
After approval: 50 to 100 units per style, 25 to 30 calendar days, then 10 to 15 calendar days DDP delivery to your door, customs cleared.

Three workable starting points
| Tool | Useful for | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| Vector editor + spreadsheet | Illustrator or Inkscape for flats with a controlled measurement and BOM sheet | Good when you can maintain revisions manually |
| Dedicated pack workflow | Techpacker for organized cards and collaborative packs | Useful when materials and measurement data are reused across styles |
| AI assisted draft | Clothink, or an assistant working from your supplied template | Useful for organizing a concept; requires technical review before sampling |
Additional tools to put on your shortlist
Inkscape documents vector paths, text annotations and multiple export formats. It can support a drawing workflow; it is not a dedicated garment grading or supplier approval tool.
Clothink describes sketches, mockups and editable tech pack drafts with BOM and size charts. Confirm what is editable and exportable under your selected plan.
Onbrand documents live cloud based tech packs within PLM. WFX describes fashion PLM with connected technical data and vendor collaboration. FashionFlow describes integrated apparel PLM and ERP. These broader tools merit a demo when your operational needs extend beyond a document.
Run a one style trial
Choose a representative garment with a realistic BOM and measurement sheet. Invite one teammate, make a sample change and export the supplier pack. Ask the factory to identify anything unclear.
Time the workflow you actually perform: making a revision, updating artwork, checking approvals and sending a complete pack. Do not evaluate only the first image or automatically generated document.
Questions to ask before paying
Can you export your data if you leave? Which roles can edit measurements? Can suppliers see only their assigned styles? Can you preserve an approved version? What happens when a collaborator loses access?
Confirm pricing, export limits, seat charges, onboarding and permissions directly with the vendor. This guide deliberately avoids pricing figures that may change or depend on your plan.
When PLM becomes worth evaluating
Consider a broader system when repeated copying creates inconsistent material records, several people manage overlapping styles, or sample approvals and costing are hard to trace. There is no universal number of styles that makes PLM necessary.
If you are still defining your first product, do not delay a manufacturer review while comparing platforms. Innovtex can review a sketch, AI render or existing pack and help develop the missing technical information.

Sources & review notes
Capabilities are described from the vendors’ public documentation, reviewed 2026-10-08, not from hands on product testing. Features and plans can change. Confirm current capabilities, access and terms with each vendor. Innovtex is not affiliated with these tools.
Turn your design into a garment
Share a sketch, AI render or existing tech pack. Innovtex reviews the design and develops it through sampling, production, quality control and delivery across China, Spain, Vietnam and Honduras. MOQs start at 50 to 100 units depending on category and fabric.
